We're all met with challenges every single day of our lives. However, we will never know the challenges met by people like Hank Williams III to live up to the expectations of the rest of the musical world. Obviously, Hank carries the moniker of two of the legends of country music, his grandfather and his father. Though the names are legend, Hank III is making a name for himself. Hank says his musical background isn't exactly the same as his grandfather's. Hank III's first CD, Risin' Outlaw, wasn't just a name decided upon by the musical promoters that liked Hank's tattoo with these same words. Hank's early introduction to music came from listening to groups like KISS, Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Ted Nugent. He says, "I didn't really start listening to country from a singer/songwriter's point of view until I was 20 or 21. Back then, I was just screaming my head off and playing drums. I was into anger and chaos. I'd never tapped into melodies, touching people's souls and making them cry." ![]() ![]() ![]() |
